This Thanksgiving lets give thanks for all the troops who helped make it possible for us to have the freedom to give Thanks. Also give Thanks to the One who bestowed us and our country with so many blessings through the years. And we hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving with your friends and family.
This first week in October, some of us are on the way to the 2012 USS Kennebec Assoc. Reunion in Memphis, TN!
Wow, what a weekend! The 2012 USS Kennebec Assoc. Reunion was great!! We want to Thank all the people who worked hard to make it possible. Also, Thank You! to all the shipmates, spouses and friends that showed up and helped to make the reunion both memorable and enjoyable. A reunion report from Erv, the Assoc. Sec, can be found in the Membership Area on the Reunion page.
We want to thank retiring Treasurer Richard Spanier for his service to the Association, and Thank John Looney for taking on that job. We also want to Thank our retiring Historian Earl Rupp and retiring Co-Historian Rex Livengood for that service to the Association and to Thank Donald Neff for taking on the job of Historian.

Sad news from Donna-Marie Lockerbie, her husband, and our fellow shipmate, Andrew N. Lockerbie, Jr., MM3 Aboard 1953-54 as MMFN, passed away on Thursday, June 7th, 2012, from pancreatic cancer diagnosed just 2 1/2 weeks prior. Our sincere sympathy to Donna-Marie and their family/friends. A good man is always missed.
Received notice that shipmate Alfred "A.C." Richards, GMG1
Aboard 1947-50 as SN, had passed away on May 28th, 2012. This was noted on a "return to sender" snail mailing we received. Our sympathy goes to Alfred's family and friends.

Not a lot to report this month. Some shipmates are continuing to explore for more details on agent orange exposure of the USS Kennebec during it's active duty.
Our thoughts and/or prayers are with those businesses and individuals who may have suffered from tornado damage at Branson (where we held our 2010 Reunion) early AM on Feb. 29th.

Received word from Kevin & Darlene Moots, that their father/in-law, and our Assoc. Life Member: Tom Skindzier, BM2, Aboard 1951-54, had passed away on Oct. 28, 2011. Our sincere sympany goes to the family and friends of Tom.
