- Neal C. Aller, WT2, Aboard 1945-46, passed away on 10/26/2008.
- Glenn J Cantrell, EMCS, Aboard 1942-46, passed away on 08/31/2008.

Linda Shurmack, wife of Jim Shurmack, SM3, aboard 1961-63, passed on 12/10/2009 after a short battle with cancer. Click here for her Obit in .pdf. Linda put in a lot of work/effort into the USS Kennebec Assoc., to help it run smoothly. Our sincere sympathy goes to the family and friends of this good woman.
This is the month Americans traditionally give Thanks to God for the blessings bestowed on this great Nation of ours and on our families. May our shipmates who celebrate this event, have a blessed Thanksgiving with their family and friends.

We received word from nephew, Jim Fowler, that his uncle and our Life Member Shipmate, E.A. Fowler, Jr., RD3, aboard 1945-46, passed away on August 22nd, 2009. Our sincere sympathies goes to family and friends of E.A.

Happy Independence Day!
A warm "Welcome!" to one of our newest members, shipmate Ervin Thomas Mersch, SN, Aboard 1962-63.
Received update from Christopher Fowler that his uncle and our Life Member, Glenn J Cantrell, Aboard 1942-46, also served on the USS Oriskany, passed away on August 31, 2008.
Thank you to those who have signed up already for the 2009 USS Kennebec Reunion to be held in Honolulu, Hawaii. If you haven't registered yet, hurry to do so. The more that sign up, the more special accommodations the hotel will allow our group for fewer charges. More details can be found in the membership area.
We hope those shipmates dealing with spring floodings and other weather related problems, are able to "bailout" okay.
It's official, the 2009 USS Kennebec Reunion will be held in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dates: October 12th through 18th, 2009. Membership should login to the membership area for more details.

Reunion 2009 dates are tentative but we are looking at October 14th through the 17th. We are hoping enough members are willing to make the trek to Hawaii, if not enough, we will be looking at having the Reunion at Seattle, WA. The decision will be made in February.
